So at my work, our employee website often sends out polls to all the employees asking us, "If you could invent a new ice cream flavor, what would it be and why?" Noticing how bored I was, and realizing that I had absolutely nothing better to do at all, this was my answer:
Well, first off I'd like to really thank you for posting this poll to all the labs. This is a question I feel quite strongly about and have given much thought to. There has been much speculation over the years about ice cream flavor and, more precisely, the effect that ice cream, by its very nature, has had on the human condition. Over the centuries, ice cream has transformed from a simple, hot summer day refreshment, into a national icon, symbolizing the American Dream as we know it. No matter how poor, how rich, how black, how white, how Asian, how Indian, how Scottish a people may be, ice cream indeed draws all walks of life, races, genders, and parties together in a way no other frozen treat could. It is for this reason, I would invent a flavor that could capture all of these ideals and principles into one mouthful of delicious ecstasy, filling an individual with both hope and fear at the same time, both joy and pain, both selflessness and greed, both freedom and imprisonment. This flavor would transcend all flavors. It would capture the hearts, taste buds, and minds of children and grownups alike all over the world. This ice cream would become an over-night sensation, causing wide-spread demand for the flavor. This flavor would be called CLOUD 9 ICE CREAM. Everyone would eat it after every meal. Soon, this ice cream would prove to be a more powerful force than the sword and world peace, causing it's own phenomenon: ICE CREAM PEACE. This peace would never be able to be broken, until a shortage of milk developed, at which point chaos would develop and wide-spread panic would ensue. This would obviously lead to a new age Space race, searching the galaxy for any other traces of a milky substance to create more CLOUD 9 ICE CREAM. The library is slow tonight.
Maybe I'll write a book about this later in life...
Rexina - A Tale of Two Sillies
Once upon a time, in a stereotypical environment known as a ward, far far away, there lived a beautiful young woman with extraordinarily good looks, an incredible personality, the most gorgeous hair in all the land, and a smile that could melt a glacier. A servant boy liked it, so he put a ring on it.

iNDUSTRIAL dESIGN "hOMEWORK"
The thing I love about my major is that the homework is actually enjoyable. Even though it can be rather high stress, because I am in hot competition with the other 30 students applying for the next level, the work is engaging, creative, and very dynamic. I try to not think about the possibility of NOT being one of the approximately 15 students that will be accepted to the next level, having to search for a new major, losing the last 3 months of my life, having all of my educational hopes and dreams shot to the ground, and feeling completely without direction for the future. So I stay busy! Here are some of the 3D pieces I have made:
2.5D piece showing texture and interest from mainly one side.
3D piece using only planes to create a dynamic interesting visual journey throughout the object.
3D piece using planes AND lines to create a complimentary visual journey that provides harmony between the lines and planes.
3D pattern using lines and planes to create a pattern, repeating one simple piece to make a whole composition.
I love what I do! I just hope that what I do will be enough to allow me to continue doing what I love to do!

Fourth of July Awesomeness
The 4th of July most pleasantly fell upon a Monday this year, providing an absolutely incredible three day weekend, which my wife and I were able to enjoy together. Chrissy, being the very observant and intelligent female that she is, noticed the emptiness of our refrigerator and suggested a grocery store, food-purchasing trip. Those of you who know Christina very well, know that she is probably the most enthusiastic person on the planet when it comes to food. I feel very fortunate to have a fridge constantly stocked with delicious foods, bacon, and marbled meats.
Needless to say, we loaded up on lots of junk food, fireworks, and some sports equipment, namely a soccer ball, a baseball glove, and a baseball. Feeling fully prepared, my sister Whitney, Christina, and I went to a nearby park had an awesome hot dog picnic, American style! We needed all the energy we could get if we were gonna be blowin' crap up. (Jim Gaffagin reference)
Basically, I discovered three things today. 1) I love to relax, 2) my wife is very athletic and attractive when she plays sports, and 3) food makes all the difference. Happy 4th of July everybody!
